Go Wild at Whitlingham

Friday August 11th.

Water sports, country walks and puppet shows are all part of a family fun day right on the doorstep of Norwich on Friday August 11th.

A chance to "Go Wild at Whitlingham" is available in the beautiful setting of Whitlingham Country Park, Trowse, just a short cycle ride from Norwich.

The annual fun day, organised by the Broads Authority from 10am-5pm, is centred on the Little Broad and its beach where there will be the opportunity to try sailing and canoeing. Landrover safaris and bicycle hire will enable visitors to explore the full extent of the 280 acre woodland park.

A new, specially commissioned puppet show with its environmental message, "The Blooming Weed", will be performed by the Nutmeg Puppet Company at 11:30am and 3:30pm. The day will feature other children's activities such as face painting, a chance to meet Broads Beat - the Broads' own police officers, as well as displays and exhibitions. The event is free with a small charge for some activities.

How to get there:

Eastern Counties bus service to Trowse village from Norwich bus station, numbers 58/58A. (1 mile walk).
The park is on the Sustrans National Cycle Route.

Facilities:

Large car park and toilets. Disabled person's toilet. Please mention GetAfloat.com if you are attending this event.
