The forty foot ferry linking Fleetwood and Knott End in Lancashire was stolen in the early hours of 7th July. It was seen sailing across the Wyre estuary just after midnight and a lifeboat was launched and police helicopter scrambled. A man was seen jumping from the vessel and swimming back to Fleetwood
from where the craft had been taken. He was detained on the river bank by
police and questioned. |
