For the first time in the UK, an Eclipse 17 made its debut appearance at RIBEX, Southampton 12th-14th May 2000. With the introduction of the Eclipse 19 (18'6"), the Yacht Division at Zodiac of North America now offers three models in this series of breakthrough foam-collar luxury yacht tenders. Other Eclipse models include the Eclipse 17 (16'11") and the Eclipse 22 (21'). With the Eclipse series, Zodiac has literally reinvented the luxury yacht tender, creating a boat so innovative that it has no comparable competition in the market. The Zodiac Eclipse is the first soft-collar yacht tender from Zodiac. The largest model, the Eclipse 22, combines Zodiac's exclusive military V-lift rigid-hull design - in either fiberglass or aluminum - with a patented, soft, non-inflatable foam collar system from the Zodiac Hurricane design department (the same department that created Zodiac's unique foam collar workboats and patrol boats). This breakthrough foam collar system is also used on the Eclipse 17 and Eclipse 19. The design of the Eclipse series incorporates the wisdom of many yacht owners and skippers, culled from extensive focus group research. The end result is a series of stylish yet practical crafts ideally suited to life aboard large yachts. The Eclipse is remarkably light for its size and keeps a low profile
for easy storage. The collar and hull require little or no maintenance
regardless of climate, and the collar offers a soft touch when coming alongside
a yacht. Testing shows no damage on impact to the painted surface of a yacht's
hull, even when driven severely against it, and the collar has a "memory" that
prevents permanent depressions. The hull and collar design work together to
provide an exceptionally smooth and stable ride, and the Eclipse maintains a
beautiful appearance over time. |
